Terms of Service

1. Service Description

MateX is a meeting recording, transcription, and AI-powered insights platform. Our service allows you to record meetings via a bot that joins your video calls, generate transcripts, receive AI-powered summaries and action items, ask questions about your meetings, create notes, and integrate with your Google Calendar.

2. Beta Status

MateX is currently in beta. The service is provided free of charge during the beta period. While we strive for reliability, beta features may contain bugs, change without notice, or be discontinued. We do not provide service level agreements (SLAs) during the beta period. Usage limits (currently 20 meetings per month, 50 AI messages per day) may be adjusted at our discretion.

3. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use MateX.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Record meetings without the knowledge and consent of all participants, where required by law.
• Use MateX to violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.
• Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the service.
• Use the service to store or transmit malicious code, spam, or unlawful content.
• Resell, sublicense, or provide the service to third parties without authorization.

5. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all content you create or upload through MateX, including your meeting recordings, transcripts, notes, and chat messages. We retain ownership of the MateX platform, its design, features, and technology. AI-generated summaries and insights derived from your content are provided for your use but the underlying AI models and algorithms remain our property.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MateX is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities. Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, during the free beta, is zero).

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your Account Settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in conduct that harms the service or other users. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of MateX after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
